About Us
The Other Side of the End Zone, Inc. is dedicated to providing financial assistance to underprivileged high school students who excel in football, helping them pursue higher education and achieve their academic and athletic goals. Our goal is to raise funds to provide college scholarships specifically to these student athletes. Recipients will need to demonstrate strong academics and character traits in addition to excellence on the football field. By investing in their education, we can empower them to overcome financial barriers and achieve their academic and athletic dreams.
Low College Attendance Rates
Did you know that in certain Essex and Union County, NJ communities, an alarmingly low number of high school students go on to attend college? Recent data shows that in some schools in these counties less than 30% of high school graduates enroll in a college or university.
Limited Scholarship Opportunities
Many of these students play sports in high school, including football, with the hope that this can be their lifeline to college. However, the NCAA reports that less than 2% of high school football players secure scholarships at the collegiate level.
